SIWW 2026: Conversations Beyond Surge Protection

NOVARIS first Singapore International Water Week confirmed that the discussion around surge protection is changing.

Many visitors came to the NOVARIS stand looking for a product. The conversation often moved beyond that. The focus became how to protect an entire water facility, from incoming power through to PLCs, instrumentation and communication networks.

As water infrastructure becomes more automated, surge protection is no longer just about fitting a device onto a panel. It starts with understanding where the risks are and how different parts of the system interact.

Our Solutions Architect, Josephine Winnie, spent much of the exhibition discussing the engineering behind surge protection rather than simply comparing product specifications.

“Many visitors wanted to understand why products that look similar can perform very differently in service. That gave us the opportunity to explain the design approach behind NOVARIS solutions and how they are applied in critical installations.”

The exhibition highlighted a growing interest in system level protection rather than individual components. It also reinforced the value of technical discussions early in the design process, before equipment reaches site.
